Internal Wall Insulation

Warmer solid wall homes without altering your property's exterior

About Internal Wall Insulation

Many older properties across the East Midlands have solid brick or stone walls with no cavity, which means they lose heat far faster than modern cavity-wall homes. Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) fits an insulated layer to the inside face of external walls, cutting heat loss significantly without changing how your home looks from the street. It's a practical option for listed buildings, conservation areas, or anywhere external cladding isn't suitable or desired.

Benefits of Internal Wall Insulation

Reduce Heating Bills

Solid walls are one of the biggest sources of heat loss in older homes. Insulating them internally can noticeably cut the energy needed to keep rooms warm, lowering monthly heating costs.

No Change to Exterior

Because the work is carried out from inside, your brickwork, render, or stonework stays exactly as it is - ideal for period properties, listed buildings, and conservation areas.

Improved Comfort

Insulated walls stay warmer to the touch and reduce cold spots and draughts, making rooms feel more comfortable year-round and helping reduce condensation and damp.

Increase Property Value

A better energy performance certificate (EPC) rating makes a property more attractive to buyers and tenants, and can support higher valuations on older housing stock.

Our Process

We start with a free, no-obligation home survey to assess your wall construction, existing insulation, ventilation, and any damp issues that need addressing first. We then agree the best insulation system for your property - typically insulated plasterboard or a built-up insulation and lining system - and plan around doors, windows, sockets, and radiators. Installation is carried out room by room to minimise disruption, followed by finishing, redecoration prep, and a final quality check before handover.

Specifications & Materials

We use PAS 2035/2030-compliant insulation systems, typically rigid PIR insulated plasterboard or mineral wool with a service void, sized to the required U-value for your property type. All work considers moisture management and ventilation to avoid trapping damp within the wall build-up, and skirting, coving, and electrical fittings are refitted or extended as needed to give a clean, finished look.

Guarantees & Certification

All internal wall insulation work is installed to PAS 2030:2023 standards and comes with the appropriate manufacturer and installer guarantees, backed by our TrustMark and BlueFlame accreditations.
